Finally getting back to ME!!!

Saturday, February 09, 2013

It's taken a few weeks (but used to be years!!) but I'm finally beginning to focus on me again! It's been a struggle these last few weeks - I've been angry, sad, happy, amused, puzzled - by my thoughts over these weeks. My health has taken a slim turn for the worst but it's not life threatening - just a nuisance. But it felt like I shouldl give up on me -- that I've tried so many times and have always given up but I went back and read some of my old blogs and remembered (yes I've always known) why I started this journey - to better my health. Why do we give up so easily on ourselves? Do we think this journey is going to be easy? So today I'm back to logging my food and my exercise - I mean how sad is that - I"ve continued exercising but didn't even want to log it!!!??? Tomorrow morning I'll get on the scale and start from there...no matter what the number - it is what it is (I love that phrase!!) Then I will start weighing in on Sat for the 5% challenge. This time I"ve not done the assignments but I have gone to read other peoples responses to the assignments -- do you people know how inspiring you all are??? I still am proud of myself that I am swimming -- although that may come to a halt with my 'issues' of itching....but I've started going to the OTHER side of the gym w/ dh -- and while I didn't like 'sweating'...lol, it's another option and I did enjoy it. The important part is I didn't quit ...so I'm happy about that. Now to get back to food tracking - that's when I know I do best....so stop by sometime and make SURE I still am and give me a quick kick in the seat if I am not!!!
5% challenge -- here I come....

Hi Lynn...I guess I have been slacking too. After my dad passed away in January I was not doing well taking care of me at all. I gained about 12 pounds and I am now back and ready to forge ahead once again. I am logging my food and exercise and I hope to continue on this long and sometimes difficult journey.

Just like you, I will NEVER QUIT no matter how long it takes me to get to my goal. And at the rate I'm going I will be here a VERY LONG time. LOL Oh well, they say it is better to lose slowly and I am sure following that advice.

Glad you are back to logging everything. It does make a difference. Hope you have a healthy, happy week. Sending you positive vibes and a great big hug.

Congrats on getting back on track, and lets keep each other in check. I am going to try to start tracking my food again. I want to make this work this time. It is my third time with the 5% challenge as well.

Failure is only not getting back on track...no matter how long it takes to be where you
    want to be.

I have so much faith in you and have been so impressed by your swim miles. I will be very happy to kick you in the butt if I see you slacking off!!!! Isn't that what friends are for. And about the ST.....once you start feeli g the difference in your strength you will not want to lose it. Try a class.....the instructor will push you in a safe manor so you wont hurt yourself. Lets have fun in the challenge!

I always felt that if I quit tracking I would gain all my weight back and then some! It is the only thing that keeps me focused! Plus, coming onto SP and reading amazing articles, blogs and being cheered on by my SPF's! SP is a great website that gives us the tools to succeed and glad you are not giving up! It is easy to get discouraged when things get tough, but we only fail if we do give up! So keep going! It took me 2 years to lose 20 pounds, but I never gave up, just saw my lowest weight it 21 years this past week! Check out my latest blog! emoticon emoticon
