The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food and how we are being manipulated to eat things

Sunday, February 24, 2013

It's all about salt, sugar, fat, along with texture and color, and don't forget about packaging too.
The food manufacturers aren't doing anything illegal, but the results are outrageous both in their profits and the impact on our health, and WE foot the bill for these!

Take a look at this article that was published in the New York Times a few days ago - http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02
=general&src=me - it was a real eye opener for me!

I spoke to a Sports Nutritionalist who said the upsurge of combining salt and sugar ie. chocolate bars etc., is causing further manipulation as it goes right to the happy place in our brain! emoticon

Yep. And I am so glad my family doesn't like them anymore. That aisle in the supermarket does not exist for us. We don't even suffer because of that LOL

I completely agree upon how tecnology and science have "served" food industry in order to expand their target group through addiction and psychology of pleasure misplacement, erotic experience immitation, and finally brain washing..
Here is an interesting book i ve read explaining some

    "The End of Overeating"
    David A. Kessler

I have watched myself changing mood, speaking with an "unknown" irrational language under the spell of a concentrated edible bomb of stimuli and i have also experienced what freedom is and i am craving for the later. We are weak against this war but not powerless.
    Good luck!

So the health food companies and doctors put out recommendation for healthy food choices and then the big food giants formulate a concoction that turns that healthy treat into a forbidden morsel! Corn chips are healthy when eaten with salsa! Many of the foods are okay when made naturally at home! Once the mass food industry gets a hold of them, wham, calories shoot through the roof as the addictive flavors grab us by our tongue! We salivate as we drive or walk by their establishments or pass by the food in the grocery isles! It no wonder why so many Americans are obese! Thank you Spark People and you too Spark friend for turning the light on to expose the dark, evil plans of the under world that hides behind closed doors!

Okay, did I make it sound sinister enough! Step away from the Doritos and drop that Devil's Food Cake! It's loaded! ; )

Had you not omitted starch, you'd easily see that junk food satisfies our need for the four major food groups. So some would have us think. (That's a joke -- salt, sugar, fat and starch = the Big Four. Get it, get it?)
