Foster, stress or love

Sunday, April 07, 2013

Fostering is both a great love and a great stress in my life. The toll it takes physically and emotionally is eventually paid off later when I get the phone calls of thanks from kiddos that are now grown men, starting families of their own. Though those calls don't always reach our ears, and so, we often live like most, day by day, week by week, and must look for those minor improvements to encourage ourselves that the sacrifices are well worth it and making a positive change. I can say with certainty that the ones recently living with us have made such strong improvements that I am greatly encouraged in what we do. And it is a labor emoticon of love emoticon

Thank you for sharing. I have been sort of at a crossroads, though I am actually slowing progressing forward, to start an organization to work with youth - at risk, in the court system, underprivileged, in the social services system, etc, to use my horses as therapy. So your blog and wislndr's post was very timely. :)

Some day I will be brave enough to share my webpage :)

Thank you for taking the time to share. I think we can and DO make the difference in young ppl's lives for the better!

I work in the court system, frequently in Juvenile Intake Court. Bless you for what you do, I think about the love every time a child is placed in a foster home and I thank you for helping a young person to live a better life!
