Reflections on my 4 months in the Ohio area (and others North East states)

Thursday, August 22, 2013

As I prepare to fly back to Arizona on Tuesday (8-27) I thought it was time for an update.

I wanted to make an entry concerning my time on Homeland Ministry Assignment (raising our support for the ministry in Arizona). I have so enjoyed all the camp meeting services we have been privileged to attend. It has been a spiritual buffet. Not to mention the times I have had in my devo’s. Then there are the services. What a privilege to worship with our friends and supporters. Thank you so much for your warm welcomes and times of fellowship. And glory be to God for his awesome presence we felt in each service. My only regret is that I could use several more months to just take in but I need to return to AZ on Tuesday August 27, 2013.
As for His temple/my body while on this 5 month adventure, I wanted to make sure I kept up with my “Temple Maintenance”. So for the physical part I thought it would be fun to run in as many different races and states as I could. In these pictures from left to right (hanging on my neck) they are:
- Capital City ½ Marathon (13. 1 miles) – May 1, 2013 Columbus Ohio
- Cincinnati Redleg 10k (6.2 miles) – June 1, 2013 Cincinnati, OH/Covington KY
- Run to the Cross – 5k (3.1 miles) – June 29, 2013 Tipton, IN
o Placed 2nd in my age group Medal in my right hand
- Roundtown Classic 5k – 5 mile (I did the 5 mile) July 20, 2013 Circleville, OH
o Placed 3rd in my age group – left hand plaque
- Boys & Girls Club of Western Broome “Invictus” 5k (3.1 miles) the shirt I’m wearing. Endicott NY

God has blessed me so much. This life’s journey has truly been a GREAT ADVENTURE. And the best part is that there is more to come.

Weight Update: 8-22-13

I have been able to maintain my weight between 163-168 pounds for 1 ½ years now. It was far easier losing the weight then keeping it off. I have to really work at keeping my focus as I readjust my calorie intake and continue to work on fine tuning my fitness program. I like a poster I saw the other day. “Fitness is not a destination…It’s a way of life” I will always have to keep vigilant if I want to stay fit. And I will always have to be adjusting my calorie intake based on my physical activity level and age. But with God’s help I will succeed.

P.S. I'll have to confess that it's been fun going to churches and they don't know who we are because because of our weight loss. (260 lbs together) In one case they figured out who Debbie was and were concerned about the fact she was with some other guy. If I had known that I would have given them something to really talk about and given her a big kiss. LOL. emoticon Anyway it will be good to get home after being gone for 4 months.
