new year same goals

Like everyone I set goals at the beginning of the year every January only to get discouraged and quit within a few months. This year will be different! I have the same goals as years past but this year I have decided to reach out for support more. So yeah I am depending on my Spark buddies to keep me motivated and on task. I gotta lose this weight. So it is nearly a week into the new year and so far my biggest struggle is finding time for exercise. Any suggestions on how to fit in a workout when you are always busy? Food wise I have been doing good sticking to eating healthy with the exception of Today where I ate Chinese food and added it to my tracker only to find it put me over my calorie goal for today. So what I learned from this mistake is I will put it in my planner first and see if it is within my calorie budget before splurging on it. Live and learn right? So I am going to try to blog more regularly also to help myself look back at the struggles I face throughout the year and see how many I can overcome. Well, 1 week done next weeks goals are to
1. continue to avoid soda
2. Make healthy food choices when possible
3.aim to Drink 8 glasses of water everyday
4. Weigh in Sunday and report progress

    by golly you have a great plan .... working out for just a few minutes whenever you get a chance can sure add up each day .... 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there .... then when you have that extra 30 or 60 minutes to get in do make it worth the time .... good luck. Rocie

    You're off to a great start by looking for the things that trip you up and trying to find solutions.

    I have struggled with finding time for exercise as well. I decided to try two things: 1.) accept that I may have to work in activity a few minutes at a time on my busiest days, instead of the 30 minute sessions I prefer, 2.) make my health and weight loss goals a top priority instead of the first thing I push aside when things get hectic.

    Break up your exercise. Exercise in the car on the way to and from work. While waiting in line at the supermarket lift up on your tip toes. Do some lunges in the kitchen while you cook. Just do something. Just move as much as you can. :)
