Three Days!

Thursday, February 20, 2014

emoticon That’s three days in a row doing my CrossFit style cardio/strength routine that my RN Educator at work recommended. I am so totally stoked! Did it Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Then for variety, I had planned to take my mountain bike out for a spin last night. However, my husband was feeling ill, so I volunteered to take my daughter to cheer practice and did my C25K run around the lake. I had not done my C25K in almost 2 weeks (uhg!) Was pretty doable for the first 3 intervals, but I lost momentum in the end. But I did it! I was even jogging on asphalt, which I hate, prefer dirt track. So that had something to do with it. Shins ache a bit today.

So far over half way to my minutes goal for the week! Need to get in some extra minutes to hit my goal. Maybe add in some WII after my CrossFit. Or try doing Jillian Ripped in 30 again.

emoticon Still don’t know what my husband’s problem was. He’s like that sometimes. Rather inconsistent. I guess I have that to be grateful for, I tend to be pretty consistent. I was also reflecting on other blessings in my life this morning. Like that I am blessed with overall good health. I don’t have any physical handicaps that limit me. I wondered for a minute why that might be, why God saw fit to give me good health and others not. But, everyone has their cross to bear, and I certainly have my share of emotional ills. Maybe that’s why. God saw what I was up against with my folks and was like, yeah she has enough to deal with. I apologize in advance if this line of reasoning offends anyone, btw.

emoticon But I digress; I want to say I am VERY grateful for my good health. And I can understand why my husband would resent me for sitting around on the couch not exercising, when his asthma and allergies make exercising difficult. I see that is taking it for granted. So, Iv been going out of my way to move my body. Not because of his resentment, that was never a good motivator for me, lol. No, for now, I think it IS possible for me to get fit, IF I really work at it.

Oh, cooler than cool! I heard an ad on Pandora this morning that the Pixies are in concert in Phoenix. Next week! On a Monday? That’s odd. I think Imma gonna go! Not my fav venue, but, PIXIES! Eeep! However, I have traffic school Saturday, and am committing to a intro motorcycle class the following weekend. The IT lady at our office is a motorcycle class instructor and convinced a few of us ladies to take her class. I was not interested AT ALL to begin with. Then the other day, one of the gals told me she wouldn’t be able to go and asked if I wanted her spot. So I, thought, hmm? OK! Thrill seeking! I then decided that I should go skydiving too. More details to follow….

Funny that you prefer running on dirt track, I prefer running on sidewalk! But that's partly because the track around the park where I live is so woefully neglected at this point (city can't afford to maintain it properly) that it's really uneven, and sidewalk feels safer.

Way to go on your streak! That is awesome! And wow to Jillian's ripped in 30. I've done her Body Revolution and that scared/tortured me enough. Hee.

My goodness, look at you, Daphne! Congrats on your 3-day streak, that's terrific! I'm really happy for you that you're in such a good headspace, too.. gratitude is a huge motivator and source of joy, so it's fantastic that you're tapping into it. Motorcycles?! Sky diving?! Whoah.. a whole new side of you is emerging. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures!
