HM training notes - runnin' in the rain

Friday, February 28, 2014

Once again, my training plans were adjusted this week due to work - but it's all good:)

Yesterday, I was scheduled to run a 3-miler, but subbed instead. During the day, I had several teachers ask me if I would sub for them today, but declined (I really didn't want to miss another training/shopping/house cleaning day). So today, I ran! And it was a memorable run, too:)

By the end of the 3 miles, I was soaked from rain/sleet/snow. The first half of the run was brutally cold - I was running into the freezing rain, but on the way home, the I was getting pelted from behind.

Today's training stats: 3 miles in 27:55 with a 9:17 pace. Due to weather, I kept my route on the streets. I'll have to figure out a route to run for tomorrow's 8 mile run, since my normal trail route will be too muddy... At least I got in a "water tank climb" earlier this week.

Shoulder update - still bugging me occasionally, but not anything bad enough to hold me back.

I saw that rain and snow this morning! The weather was changing so quickly... foggy, raining, snowing, sunshine... it was all within an hour... so weird. Sorry you got caught out in that, but you should be proud that you can run through it! I would be a mess.

I'm glad your shoulder is doing better. I know how maddening an injury can be.

Have a great weekend and keep on running!
