Big SHOUT OUT to the Nebraska Cornhuskers today! The women's basketball team finished 1st in the Big 10 Conference tournament this afternoon in their win over Iowa and the men's basketball team just beat #9 Wisconsin at home 77-68 this evening. Tim Miles and Connie Yori are the most awesome coaches in the state today!!! What makes it even better is that the men were picked to finish last in the Big 10 Conference at the beginning of the year and they only had one loss at home in the new Pinacle Arena in their first year.
This has been a weekend for us to really enjoy TV time. Yesterday (Saturday) was the Nebraska Girls High School basketball tournament so there were 6 finals yesterday. Great job to all the girls teams that played yesterday and it was an exciting night for the Benson Bunnies as they won their first Class A basketball title last night in their win against Bellevue West.
I didn't get tons of steps in over the weekend since I spent a lot of time watching the TV but I did 10 minutes last night on my gazelle and went for a walk outside this afternoon and then my 12 minute PACE workout tonight. It was about 65 degrees when I went for my walk but it was plenty windy with 22 mile per hour winds.
We went out for my birthday dinner tonight at Outback - I ate a salad, salmon and fresh vegetables with an iced tea (unsweetened) and avoided the bread tonight but had a few of the cheese fries my son ordered as an appetizer. We got up late this morning and he had to be at work by 10am so he didn't eat breakfast and then he worked at the Dairy Queen from 10:00-5:45. Needless to say, he was pretty darn hungry by the time we got to Outback.
One more day of my birthday celebration tomorrow with lunch with my Mom and then dinner with my hubby. This will be the 30th anniversary of our first date so it's an extra-special birthday. Love having a night out with my special guy!
