Scary visit to doctor - might be the motivation I need

I FINALLY made it to see my endocrinologist after having the appointment re-scheduled for weather. After my appointment, I went home and cried to my husband for about an hour. Apparently my weight is a huge issue right now. It's going to make it more difficult to get pregnant and even then, it's not conducive to a healthy pregnancy. I am apparently at risk for gestational diabetes, which can lead to post-pregnancy type II diabetes and all kinds of fun things. In addition, being hypothyroid during pregnancy can be dangerous, so they jack up your meds to keep you hyper, which is sometimes difficult. Anyway, he basically scared the hell out of me. And at the same time, once I stopped freaking out, I realized that he also gave me really great motivation to lose weight. I NEED to so that I can have the family I really really want right now. Plain and simple.
He DID give me Cytomel, which is a T3 supplement that I have read a lot about lately. I have been doing research on hypothyroidism so I can be better informed about my situation and therefore, take care of myself better. Sometimes, when your TSH is normal and your free T4 levels are normal, your thyroid can still not be functioning well because of improper T3. A friend of mine was in the same boat as me when it came to her thyroid and difficulty losing weight and she went on the supplement and has been doing great. So asking my doctor about it was a priority for me. But when I asked him about it he just shrugged it off and said it works in about 15% of patients so I could try it if I wanted. I didn't really love that reaction, but at least I got it.
He also gave me a weight loss drug. Not too happy about that, but if it helps get the weight off faster, then so be it. This would make the third doctor supervised weight loss drug I have been on and the other two didn't work AT ALL, so I am not optimistic. I am really hoping that the Cytomel will be what I really needed. The doctor also told me to stay on between 600 and 700 calorie a day diet with mostly protein. We have mandatory mail-in prescriptions at work so I had to send my prescriptions to them and I am hoping to get them by the end of the week. I had already cleaned up my diet, but now I have to slash some of the calories. Basically I have to stop snacking in between meals because my meals usually end up about 600 calories a day and then I have two to three snacks that make up the rest of my calories per day. All healthy snacks, but need to cut down. In addition to all that, I finally ordered a really good probiotic and multivitamin and I am going to order the veggie powder (PHresh greens) and a protein powder to add to my green shakes for dinners to add extra nutrients without many calories. It was all a lot to take in, but I guess we will see how it goes. I don't really have much of a choice because I NEED to get this weight off.
