Traveling makes diet difficult!

Thursday, April 10, 2014

On Monday night I left town for an all day training the next day. I had planned on Red Lobster so I headed there. All was good overall. I had lobster, salad, a little undreaded shrimp, water, a cheddar bay biscuit (ooops) but just 1.

Tuesday for training it was hard to find anything on the breakfast buffet I could have eater. I went for the yogurt and some oatmeal with a tbs of nuts in them. It was ok, but really, really sweet. (yucky). That afternoon we went to a mexican restaurant for lunch and I had tilapia that was grilled with spinach, shrimp, tomatoes and some iceberg lettuce. I had one flour tortilla, water with lime and a few chips. I avoided the rice.

All day I avoided the very yummy looking donuts in the back of the room.

That night I went to olive garden and had one of their lo-cal meals with fish and a tomato based sauce. I also had a breadstick and salad. San Pellegrino water and lime. It was delicious....again not what I probably should have had on this diet.

Bottom line is that I was proud of myself for doing as well as I did, but it wasn't great. I am having baked fish tonight and broc/cauli mix. I wish I could do better than that. I DID buy some kefir and yogurt and pre packaged salad yesterday so I am set for work this weekend.

I WILL keep on even when I fall off the wagon sometimes.

It is hard to eat out and we find ourselves eating out more than usual. The places you went to have way too many great foods that challenge the calorie bases. You did well with them all. Enjoy!!

I think you did great! It sounds like you kept it as low cal as you could. You had lean meats and veggies. Great job! Those biscuits are delish, aren't they? The only way you could have done better is making the food yourself which is not really an option when you travel. If you went over you calories for one day, so what. That is life. It happens now and it will happen when you've reached your goal weight.

It looks like you did the best with what you had for choices, don't be so tough on yourself. You could have done a lot worse by ordering meats instead of fish, noodles instead of salad. As for the breakfast , you ate what was the best choice and how and how about avoiding those donuts in the back of the room---that was a temptation there that you avoided, good job.

sounds like you ate quite healthy, and I realize it is so difficult when you are away from home.
