ONE small VICTORY!!!

Sunday, April 27, 2014

So after a long day...getting up at 5 am...working a stressful 8 hour day with my dementia residents (I do love them dearly...and no that isn't sarcasm)...coming home and listening to my husband describe his BIG plans for the yard...tidying up the house...by 5 pm I had talked myself out of my planned time on the treadmill...I had a busy day...soooooooo tired!

I was standing over a sink-full of sudsy water while doing dishes (how many dishes can 2 people make in one day anyways?!?!?! Too many...that's how many!!!!!) I thought...what the heck is wrong with me anyways?!?! I can do this...I can get on the treadmill...I need to start thinking about how much I CAN DO...how thankful I am that I'm able to do this...

I really need to start thinking differently about the time I have available in my day...and my energy level. I'm going to really try to start thinking...I'm tired...but so what...I'll feel so good afterwards...how much do I really want to lose this weight and be even healthier???

...so long story short...I got on the treadmill...35 minutes...15 of which were ran...353 calories burned!!!

Woo Hoo for sure! That's what I found too when I felt too tired to work out. I just gave myself permission to just do 15 minutes of exercise because a little was better than none but once I got started, it was so easy to keep going and do more than what I had planned to do! Positive self talk is so empowering!
    Way to go!

I love this! "I really need to start thinking differently about the time I have availble in my day" is a phrase that's going to stick with me. emoticon I read something the other day that said, "someone who is busier than you is working out right now." It's true... and it's worth making time for ourselves! Thanks for this! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
