Great day out of doors all day today!!!

I love when the weather and my body are co-operative. Today they both allowed me to spend the whole day outside. I began by making up a large pot of steel-cut oats with cinnamon and a couple of apples cooked in with it. That was enough for the next 8 days. Then I made one of my husbands favorite bean recipes. White beans stewed in chicken stock and diced ham and onions. I like carrots in mine but since he doesn't I left them out for him. Then it was outside for the rest of the day. I began by going on my cardio training walk/jog and I am up to jogging 2 1/2 km now. I'm at the half way point in my training. I'm starting to believe I may just have what it takes to be able to run the full 5k in July if I keep persisting like I have been. When I got home as I was walking up my driveway admiring my hard work at making a new flower bed there this week I decided I needed to put some flowers in now. I went and bought a flat of orange pansies. Then I transplanted the yellow crocus and blue grape hyacinth that are finished and needed to be thinned out and planted them with the pansies I had purchased. Next spring when the spring bulbs bloom there and I get more orange pansies there that flower bed is going to pop with bright spring colors. I still have room in the back of the bed to put some taller perennials but I haven't made up my mind just what I want put back that will bloom all throughout the summer. I have some delphiniums that I could transplant and put there which would work well. My hands are rough from digging in the dirt and I need a long warm soak in the tub now. Great day just like I imagined my life should be like at my age.
