Why do I join the RV challenges?
I joined Spark 5 years ago (June 8 2009).
I lost weight steadily for some time and eventually hit the very top of healthy BMI but that was just before Christmas, I gained and have never got that low again.
This is the point I'd like to get to but have found I was gently gliding up the pounds rather than down.
The challenges give me somewhere to be accountable, if I don't lose I need to explain myself, if I gain (as I have done a number of times on this last one) I have to get back on track quickly. That's hugely helpful.
Often if I start gaining I'll do so for a good number of weeks before I get back on track, in that time I can gain quite a bit, this time despite gains I've had an overall loss. If life gets busy or emotionally stressful, I turn to food, something I hope I'll one day find a different way of coping with.
Apart from the weight loss, each week there's something to think about or act on. Some of these aren't particularly relevant for me others get me thinking/acting, it's good to revisit all these aspects of healthy living.
I still have a few pounds to go (and I'm at a better weight than I was all of last year) but I do know that staying there will be incredibly difficult, tracking & exercise will have to be part of my life for ever.
