G.O.M.B.S! :)

This is going to be a quick blog to tell you what I have been doing since the beginning of June, which is helping me see results finally.

I have been focusing on eating nutritional power meals filled with G.O.M.B.S, sounds like combs but with a "G" :)

G= GREENS
O= ONIONS
M= MUSHROOMS
B= BERRIES
S= SEEDS

So, anyway I kind of made up an eating plan(BECAUSE I DO NOT LIKE COUNTING CALORIES) that I am able to stick with that goes along with an alternative day fasting plan. Some people think a.d.f is crazy, some don't, there is a lot of interesting science.. and what not, that backs up a.d.f. (Google it if you're interested) So on Mon. Wed. and Fri. I have been having my power packed G.O.M.B.S meals for lunch and a snack.

Since they are filled with nutrients my body needs..I haven't felt any over the top cravings. Drinking water, taking my multivitamin and fish oil, and getting good sleep, most nights. I just make sure not to eat past 6 or 7 p.m.

On non-fast days, which are Tues, Thurs, and Sat & Sun. I just eat normally and healthy. Nothing like an over the top- all out frenzy at a buffet or anything. Just how I would do a normal tracking day.

Then I have been walking and playing outside with my kids. Need to get serious again with my strength training....love that! So, that's what I have been doing since the start of June...I like the results I am seeing, and I could see myself sticking with this for however long I have too. We will see when the time comes. So far, so good! :)

    This sounds like a very interesting thing to try. I do not believe that I could accomplish this as I do not enjoy onions and mushrooms. My word would have to be something like peppers and cucumbers. It would be GCPBS.... Not really as much fun as the gombs. lol I am happy you are seeing results! It is always good to mix it up a bit!

    Your blog title had me curious...all I could think was "bombs" I know...but what is "gomes"! lol. Thats cool that you've found something that is working for you! It feels sooo good to eat healthy & to do healthy things for your self/others (ie playing outside w/ your kids--so special & healthy all in one!) Ya, I want to get on ST too...just have had stomach issues that have prevented me from progressing (I have an errosion, something that is before an ulcer is formed, so when I was doing ST it would really hurt that area)...So by mid-July its suppose to be healed up. So I'm *trying* to be patient :) You have a great day! emoticon

    Good for you. Back in January, I started intermittent fasting. For two twenty four hour periods per week I ate nothing. (Basically I ate an early dinner and then skipped breakfast and lunch the next day.) I did it for 3 or 4 months with very mixed results in terms of weight loss. I never gained weight, but my loss slowed down dramatically from my previous more traditional calorie counting. However, I felt more energetic and my mind was much more clear than I ever remember. It was a good personal experiment and I think I'll incorporate intermittent fasting on occasion going forward. So go ahead and eat your GOMBS.
