What's this maintaining stuff?

A maintainer? Wow, I guess I can finally call myself that! Though it's been about 6 months since I came to within half a pound of the number on the scale that I said was my goal. But I really think what I've been doing for this past year is maintaining. So I'm making it official--I've joined a team!
I was overweight for my entire adult life until I made Spark People a part of my life three years ago.
I haven't weighed this little since I was in my early years of high school. So this maintaining thing is foreign to me. I've always been "gonna" lose weight or been "on a diet" (or not!).
Now I did it, and even though my mental image of myself is bigger than reality and I still don't always recognize myself when I glance at my reflection in a window, it really is the new me and I want to keep it!
I've become accustomed to shopping in the Misses department instead of plus sizes, and I never want to take that for granted. And some day I'll get the courage to throw away those "fat" clothes that are still lurking in the back of my closet. But for now, I'll revel in the fact that I'm maintaining, learn just exactly what that means, and set some different kinds of goals.
