Restart and a Breather

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Hi there Spark friends!! emoticon

Where have I been most of the year? Mostly keeping my head above water. Work took on a life of its own- the past months have been grueling to say the least. Long hours, weekends working. The company I work for sold and this was part of the process.

So where does this leave me?

After months and months of having zero time for myself, I am now taking a breather as we finish closing it out. My bosses want to switch me over to another company of theirs so thank GOD for that!! We'll see what happens but for now- right now I'm taking a breather and focusing on me. What does this mean?

NUTRITION: I did the Whole 30 and Paleo grudgingly (doctor endorsed) earlier this year and I hate these type of diet but I must say I had never felt better than when I was doing them. Eating clean- cleared up my sinus, took care of stomach issues, had more energy, slept better, cleared up my skin and helped with my anxiety. This all fell to the wayside when I got stressed and fell back on old habits- 5pm Cheetos and coke and drive by food binges.

Plan: Go back to Whole 30- on day 3 right now and going through the carb flu:)

EXERCISE: I still have the gym membership but they haven't seen much of me since Nov. of last year. I'll start slow, as much as I want to take back to back classes and go gung ho, my fitness level isn't where it was a few years back.

So off we go....I keep starting over but I guess it's better than giving up emoticon

Oooops!! Sorry about the sideways pic emoticon

emoticon Well, I fell off the wagon a few days in to the work schedule. emoticon Then I got a migraine that took me out for two days. emoticon But I am trying to get back on track too! emoticon I hope that this round goes great for you! I am over at 5% and we start on the 20th, so I am hoping that will help keep me accountable. Hope you are feeling all better now!

Who knew? Good to hear that you're entering a new, more relaxed phase with a new job to look forward to. Doing the BLC?

Wow, sounds like a pretty ugly and intense year but it sounds like things are looking up and that's good!

I love the quote, sideways or not--I keep saying that I haven't failed because I refuse to give up, LOL. But it's true. I've hit road bumps, detours, and setbacks a plenty, but I refuse to be defeated. Sounds like it's the same for you--you CAN do this!!!

So nice to see you! What a relief that you have a new position to go to. Same general geo locale? And now to take time for taking care of YOU!

So glad to see you sweetie! You know me- still on the hamster wheel. Glad you're able to focus on you now- work can just swallow you up. (as I remember it) So many of us are getting back on track- that is a really good thing. I am going for it again too- we can do it!! Good job on getting back on your nutrition plan. That takes will power and courage- and you have both. Keep us posted on the journey. HUGS.

Sounds as if you may have lost a little ground but you have not lost all that you had gained in reaching your goals. Welcome back to caring enough about yourself to just maybe put yourself 'first'? Once again!!

I'm at a similar place of starting back at it and focusing on me and my health.

I'm so glad to hear that your work is switching you to another company of yours! Here's hoping the stress levels die down. :)
