Fitness gifts! Polar FT7

My wonderful husband got me a Polar FT7 heart monitor for Christmas. I was so excited to get an accurate picture of how many calories I'm burning. I have never been that competitive with other people, but I do like to compare my results and see my progress over time.

Naturally, I got sick on Christmas and wasn't able to test it out until today. I put in my Cardio Ballroom DVD and went at it for about 35 minute before I had to tap out... I'm definitely not at 100% yet.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this at the end!







I was so excited, until I realized that only a small portion of my time spent working out was in my ideal "fat burning zone." This is definitely something I am going to have to learn more about, so I don't see any more of this....





Overall, I'm still pleased that I did burn as many calories as I did, and just to be working out again feels great after doing nothing but sleeping for 3 days. I'm excited to use this with all different exercises and see which ones really push me into my fat burning zone.

    I'd be interested to find out which ones push you into the fat burning zone, too! Although, some exercises are said to burn calories (maybe fat?) after the heart calms down...like with weight lifting. It's tricky to figure out what's truly the best.
