So, here I am about 4 weeks into Sparking and once again facing my biggest challenge - balance. It seems I was doing great about eating very healthy and keeping on track and getting some exercise in each day. Then I was sick and my son was sick so it threw me off track (quickly falling into old habits but still attempting to Spark). So, with a coupon in hand I decided to join Fitness 19 to get me right back on track and start going to exercise classes (I will blog about my gym experience another day). Sounds like a good start, right? Well, here's the deal, when I go to the exercise class I can't eat for a minimum of 4 hours beforehand otherwise I will be literally getting sick in class (no one wants to see that )! So I don't eat until after class and by then I am starving (I would go to an earlier class but I work) so then I'm devouring everything. Here's where i need to find my balance....getting the right foods in and exercising.
What's my plan? Hmm, well off the cuff - I'm thinking about having a snack in the car so right after class I can eat (fruti, cottage cheese, nuts, anything of that nature). Making sure dinner is prepared before class and even having my plate laid out with a measuring cup (if needed) setting next to the plate so I will work on portion control. Make sure to drink water before and during the meal.
I'm always open for suggestions for ways to find that balance :)
