I did it!

In my last blog I mentioned that I was going to try and ran 5k on Thursday. I crushed it! I was so proud of myself. On Friday I ran 5k again just to kind of set the bar there in my distance. My feet were killing me afterward and through to Saturday, so I took the weekend off. They are feeling fine again today, but if they do begin to ache after I go for my run I'm gonna try soaking my feet in Epsom salt.

I'm so inspired by BOBCATGIRL76 and her 2nd half marathon, I would love to work up to something like that. Maybe by the end of summer I will be ready to give one a try. But I'd want to do a 10k or two before that. Maybe I will try and do a 5k around here sometime soon, since I know I'm capable of that now. That'd be fun! The last 5k race I did was with a friend who had not trained like I did and so I ended up walking most of the way with her. I was kind of bummed about that because I had wanted to see how I could really do. Oh well, I still had a blast that day.

I'm kind of nervous to weigh in on Wednesday, I'm so afraid the scale is going to be the same even after 7 days of great workouts and good eating. Saturday I ate mostly well, I packed a lunch since I was going to be away from home, but I didn't eat the best dinner. Sunday was my father in law's birthday and we celebrated by having a southern bbq kind of dinner followed by cake, but that was all I had really eaten that day because of various circumstances. Anyway, I know I'm putting in a lot of hard work and the results I'm seeing in my fitness achievements are great, but it would be awesome to see results on the scale and the fit of my clothes. I know I mustn't rush it though, everything will come in its own due time and I can feel good about myself as I do the right things.
