Day 132 - Enjoying the Weekend

Friday, April 10, 2015

I had another good day at work. Great conversations with the boss, some information from our plumber that helped clarify my relationship with my two in-the-field workers. I still have some bridge building to do, but that's my specialty!

We posted some furniture on Craigslist that we're selling from the Sacramento house today. I hope we get it sold. Otherwise, it will go to refugee families that flock to our area. My dad will arrange for the transport of the furniture that's left. We are ok with that. It will go to good homes, and that's what's important.

Steve's anxiety about the final move is getting to me. He has time to "think about everything" - and that isn't always a good thing! I keep reminding him that I have a plan for it all, but he doesn't have the same picture that I have. I reassure him that I know what's going to happen and it's all good. Sometimes, he believes me.

The drive down to Sacramento was good until we got past the airport. Then the traffic backed up. And he turned into his typical Type-A driver. I was sure two or three times that we were going to die. Thankfully, we got to the house without that happening!

It's weird being back in this house. It's still technically ours, but it doesn't feel like it anymore. I will be glad when this sale is done. The appraisal came in $5K below the purchase price, so we had to adjust the price to match the appraisal, but the buyer agreed to our condition that we would not make any repairs based on the inspections. We hope to have all contingencies removed by Monday, and then we will close on the 24th. We are ready!

Next weekend will be our last trip to this house, to rent the UHaul and pack up the remaining furniture and bring it to the lake. We already feel like full-time Clearlake residents. The rest is just a formality!

Have a great weekend, dear SparkFriends! You are all inspirational and amazing!

Oh Steve, I too laughed at your description of the ride with your mate at the wheel. Thinking about it makes me laugh again.

I can't wait for you two to close on your house sale either. It will be so nice for you to have it done with. It won't be long now. Hope your weekend's great too!

Moving, selling your house, going back and forth, starting a new job...STRESS!!!
You have done an amazing job! I must admit, Steve, I laughed out loud when you said you thought you'd die with Steve's type A driving in bad traffic!!! I just got a sit com visual...LOL my DH used to drive me crazy with his driving...I held on to everything in the car for dear life...thankfully it has improved! I hope this weekend goes smooth...the closing on the 24th goes as planned and you can both relax in your lovely new home! Ahhhh!
