Day 162 - Mother's Day Gratitude
Sunday, May 10, 2015
Today's expression of gratitude is for my mom, and for all moms everywhere. I'm thankful that my Mom...
...read to me as a child, until I started reading the books to her. She instilled in me a lifelong desire for learning.
...taught me to write thank you notes when I received gifts. Because of her, I learned to express gratitude.
...knew how to kiss the wounds that come with childhood and bandage them with love. I can heal from the ouches and boo-boos of life.
...baked bread and cookies for me. I wish I had learned moderation back then, but oh, her homemade goodies were delicious!
...loved me from the minute she knew I was coming. After two miscarriages, I was very much a wanted child, and I felt that from the earliest age.
...loves me today, as much as she did 58 years ago, if not moreso. For all her faults and challenges, there is never a doubt that she loves me and Steve very much.
Thanks, Mom, for all you've done for me. I hope that the small things I do for you are a token repayment of all I have received. I love you!
