Day 165 - FUNdraising

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Last night we got a call from our neighbors that a bunch of folks were going to the pizza parlor in Lower Lake (where my office is located) for a fundraiser for a local organization. Since the place is just a couple blocks from my office, we said, "Sure!" So we are heading over to get some pizza, and I would say that there will probably be beer. Steve is riding over with the neighbors, and then we'll drive home together when we've had enough socializing.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments on yesterday's blog post. My boss really isn't either the drill sergeant or guidance counselor type. He's more the college professor type, and so I have to sit through a bunch of lectures. I would appreciate it if he would be more conversational, and I told him that today. (He asked me how I was doing, and before I could elaborate on my answer, he started the lecture, and I had to sit there for about 10 minutes before I could say anything else.)

Hopefully we'll get to a point where we can work together. In the meantime, I keep doing what I can as well as I can!

Because that's what SPARKING is all about!

Keep on Sparking, friends!

Since I am reading this in reverse order this made me really laugh. I am, as Paul Harvey used to say, read "the rest of the story" now.

Keep on keeping on! I hope the work situation improves soon. Lectures aren't a lot of fun, especially if it's because someone is telling you that you did something wrong. A lot of talk can make you uncomfortable. Hang in there! He probably doesn't know how annoying he's being right now.

How was the pizza parlor? Did you try a cold draft? I'm allergic to beer myself -beer, champagne and rum. I'm not even going to try vodka! Who wants something that will just take your breath away? Doesn't sound appealing.

    Take care!

Love the sound of Pizza. I would skip the beer. Hope the fundraiser went well.

I can handle a lecture now and then as long as it is not like a parent to a child. Hate that!

    Hope the evening was successful.

Hopefully your boss will mellow out sooner rather than later emoticon

Hang in there Steve. Often we don't the opportunity to chose our bosses. Out of necessary, we have to deal with what we got. Hope you have a great day

I hope you have a good eve at the fundraiser! How was the pizza (the important part...LOL)! Don't drink and drive (I worry)!!!
It's rough when management styles are so different! God knows I have had every bizarre kind there are! Directly out of a sitcom! Somehow I always managed...but it
    sure can be tough!
Just two more work days to the week! Hope they are good ones!

So true. I have worked with some people like that in the past and it is hard to deal with. I am a vocal person by nature, and to be lectured to, gets on my nerves. Sounds like you are handling it well. Good luck with the pizza and beer. I haven't had a beer in over 2 1/2 years and the last few weeks I have been craving one. My doctor said it was okay, but to realize that since I haven't drank in so long, it will affect me quickly. So I plan some night to try one at home. But then on the other hand, I haven't had it this long do I really need it?
