Blip in the road, but proud that I busted through it.

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

After my successes last week getting back into running, I managed to not continue - found excuses. I did keep eating better, and did a ton of house cleaning and purging, but didn't continue running. I was so upset with myself. Then I stopped....what the heck, I know better than this....let's get this party started!

So today I slept in, woke up and watched TV, cleaned a bit, then got my mojo on. Ran Missy to her girlfriends place, and hit the upper Mission Creek. When I worked through the spark program the first time, I would do my run/walk, and when I couldn't do it anymore, I would call it a day. This time, I did my run walk, then hit the uphill switchbacks and continued to speed walk through the next 3 km's. At the end of the day, it was an 8 k outing, and included 5 pretty big hikes up the side of mountains:) There were many times I questioned if I could do it, even turned back at least 3 times, but decided to go forward. 4 years ago I ran this entire route - I will do it again!! For now I RRWALKED it, and I feel so proud of me.

Tomorrow is another day - I think I will go for a hike before I pick up Missy. What I really need to do is to get up with my alarm, and get moving - will report tomorrow how that plays out!
