Plan for the day was to walk with Missy in the morning, and then do a rrwalk in the evening. Didn't quite work-out the way I wanted...Missy did not want to go for a walk, and my belly was having issues this morning anyhow. So, I headed out for my hike around 2:30....hit Knox Mountain (Penny and Judi know of this WONDERFUL hill workout:-)), hiked up the path to the Summit - elevation change on this hike is rather large!! Here is the picture half way up the mountain - I start at lake level...
(sorry, can't figure out how to put this pic right side up:):) Continued up the hill to the top, it was SOOOOOOO hot, but managed to get it done:):) Knox Mountain is closed to vehicles now due to a high fire hazard, so I got to power walk down the road (a longer route than the path, but not quite as steep so better on my knees).
The best thing about this day was that when I had hiked this trail 2 weeks ago, it was so hard for me, that I had to stop a lot (mostly only for 30sec or a minute), but it was a VERY tough hike!! This time the first part was actually pretty good, kept moving, and didn't feel nearly as fatigued. The second part was where I really broke down the first time, and this time it didn't hit me until I was about 400M from the top (still a steep hike to the top). All-in-all a great hike!! Funny thing about the sparktracker is that you do a workout like this, and it says you burned only a couple 100 calories....but I know better:):)
So, obviously things are moving in the right direction!! Tomorrow I think I will be relegated to the dreadmill (LOL Be-The-Change), as my head is killing me from too much sun/heat right now.
Tomorrow is a new day, and as one of my great friends says...."Life is Good"....
