For REAL this time...

Work life recently has been less than stellar. For the 3rd time I applied for a supervisor position and did not get it. A master's degree and a few years of taking on supervisor duties has not gotten me much in my workplace. They decided to hire someone who I trained myself and had been in the office three years less. It was a lot of take in... A few good cries and some time away from the office has made me realize, life is not about a career. Life is about so much more. It is about family, friendships, and the experiences that make you smile. I have decided that I am going to continue working to the best of my ability at work, but focus more on what matters. My happiness...
I am going to spend more time with my loved ones and more time doing the things that better my life. That includes taking better care of myself. Fall is my favorite time of year and I'm going to take full advantage of that. That means great weather for walks and outdoor activities. My fitbit is fully charged and I have been using it for a while now. Now I just need to work on my eating. I will admit I wasn't eating much of anything due to stress but that has changed. I brought a wonderful little lunch and have already racked up 3000 steps so far today. I also have my gym bag packed and will be going right after work.
This time (for the millionth time it seems) has to be it. It has to be for real. I am 30 years old and want to start a family. There is no better time to get healthier and happier. I want to teach my children great healthy habits, and I can't do that if I'm unhappy with myself. Also, I can't gain more weight on top of what I am already carrying. If I truly want a happy future, I have to make this time count. So here are my goals:
- Walk 10,000 or more steps daily
- 5 times a week of cardio exercise (whether that be at the gym or at home on my elliptical)
- 1500 calories or less a day to start (if I need to adjust this I will)
- fruit/veggies as snacks instead of crackers, granola bars, pretzels, etc.
-Allowing myself to cheat every now and again, because let's face it you can't be perfect all the time...
I feel extremely motivated and I'm confident that this time I will succeed. I would love encouragement from my SP friends! If you have a fitbit, add me! email@example.com
