Envisioning the Future

I just watched a powerful Spark Coach video. It consisted of visualizing yourself 10 years from now-- how you look, how you feel, who you live with, who you spend your time with, how you move your body, how your health is, how you spend your time, etc. Then you think of how things are for you right now. Then you visualize your future self calling your current self to talk about how things are going. You hear your future self saying things like making the sacrifices to be active and eat healthy are absolutely worth it. You also hear her say that the mistakes you made don't really matter, because they just make you stronger.
Something important I got out out of this is the importance of looking ahead to the future and how you could be healthier or less so and not able to enjoy your life and have good mobility based on the choices you make now. I need to remember that every choice I make either takes me closer to my goals or farther away, depending on whether I choose the easy road or the health conscious road. It really helps to remember my relatives who died from obesity related conditions. Also, I have a good number of friends who are obese. Which one do I want for myself? The choice is mine, and mine only.
