Just a quick note here, SparkFriends. I subscribe to Paige Waehner's blog and fitness posts at About.com. You can read more about here here: exercise.about.com/bio/P

Anyhow, today's blog/email had the following observation. Let's just say that I'm glad I wasn't sipping my water when I read it! Hope your day is awesome ~ Trish

"So, my mom and I were talking the other day about jeans and how low rise jeans for women are slowly being replaced by higher waists and we rejoiced in this because low rise jeans makes your belly flop over the top.

Which leads me to the whole belly flop phenomenon and the fact that, as humans, we tend to store extra fat around that area. Why? Here's my theory (and it's not because God hates us): I think our fat is there to protect our delicate organs from any outside harm. And to keep us nice and warm.

I appreciate our fat for doing this. After all, the Cave Men and Women had a lot to deal with back in the day and they probably needed that extra protection. However, I'd like to let our Belly Fat know this: We're good now. We've survived for hundreds of years and now? We can take care of ourselves.

Really. Feel free to go. And don't let the door hit you on the behind on your way out."
