Happy 2016; Live Well...720 Days Sparking Positive

Over the past 720 days, I learned stand-up paddleboarding, hula-hooping, and ice-skating since January 12, 2014. I became and remain a Spirited Underdog! I have been doing consecutive 5% less SP challenges since the spring challenge of 2014.

On my first day at SP, I weighed 225 pounds! I weighed about the same for about a decade before joining SP. My vow to myself was and is to have as much fun losing the weight as I had going up the scale.

In 2014, it was about moving down the scale. I did lose. At some point, it got hard. I plateaued at every pound for a while after the first fifty. I finally pulled off seventy less by the fall, 2015. I am back to fifty less, and that is where I begin the year 2016.

What I still refuse to do is beat myself up for what I weigh or which size I am wearing today.

Over the holidays, I did a lot of mindful paddle-boarding, ice-skating, hula hooping, and hula hooping on the water on my paddle-board at Huntington Harbor. I also mindfully ate a few high carb desserts, and skipped calorie counting at some holiday gatherings.

My winter 5% challenge starts tomorrow at SP! Spirited Underdogs, I have my place in the pack!

    You have been amazing!! Watching you as you learn ,,,change, mature as you over time change ur lifestyle. Many including myself at first put all we have into the changes,,, but than we realize we were doing things correctly, but though we "learned", we hadn't taken care of the issues we needed to. Something was missing. Only once you discover what has happened to cause you to gain and address it back some,,, can you go forward. In the blog u have hit a very important mark now of not beating urself up. Think back if this had happened when you were losing quickly would of gotten upset at urself,,,where would that taken u?

    I think of this as a tool for when I hit maintenance. I have learned to NOT get upset if I gain, but to work on my emotions which bought this on in the first place. I don't know if this helps you.

    So GLAD ur back in the kennel!!!

    Paddle boarding sounds fun! Work in balance, using your core, quads, hamstrings, glutes and arms!! Wow!! Stay focused, stay positive! You CAN do this!

    WOW!!! You are very active and very talented to learn how to paddle board, hula hoop, and ice skate. But you went all out and you were hula hooping on your paddle board. You will be one contender I would love to face off with in this 5% challenge. I'll still be pulling for you, but for me too. I'll keep an update on my blog each day and you can check me out, as I check you out also, if you don't mind. This competition just got more friendly and the stakes got higher, as I'm putting myself out their, for the world to see.
