Back in the saddle and it feels great!

Thursday, January 07, 2016

So my recommitment to getting back to goal is going really well so far! I took two free small group personal training sessions at my gym with a young personal trainer who is very motivating. I also had a free one-on-one session with him, and I'm hooked! I signed up for the small group HIIT class twice a week for six weeks, and once a week personal training. It's really motivating and hard! I've been exercising for about three years, but he pays very close attention to form and makes everything much more challenging than what I was doing! I really like learning new body weight exercises with the TRX, etc. It's totally motivating me to not cheat with my eating, too. I'm back on my no flour-no sugar plan to lose seven pounds and get back into my goal weight range. I'm already on the way! I hope all of you are also off to a good start. What's new with you?

    Hi Lisa!!

Having good form can really transform an exercise, can't it? Our bodies are always trying to get out of the hard stuff, so we (often unknowingly) compromise form to avoid working too hard. I'm glad you found someone who really knows his stuff! (I also liked the TRX when I was seeing a personal trainer. I do inverted rows on the rings at my gym now and find it SO FUN.)

I'm working hard on portion control (my biggest weakness in this healthy life), which I'm HOPING will be a sustainable way to eat. Well -- I couldn't continue to overeat as much as I was, gaining every year.
