New year, new motivation

Monday, January 11, 2016

I haven't been on Spark People in a long time, I think maybe 2 years. I didn't really feel a need to be on. I had been working out at a gym associated with my job at least 3 days a week. I was in gym classes I really enjoyed (or had that love/hate relationship with) and I had the motivation of paying extra for those classes to keep me from skipping.

Over the summer I found a new job, a job that I like better than my previous job. The problem is that I'm now commuting 30 minutes one way so staying with the gym classes I enjoyed previously isn't much of an option now. Plus with needing more gas in my car my budget is different.

I am more active in my new job, I'm on my feet and out of my desk a lot more, however, I'm not at the gym anymore and I am eating more fast food for meals because I don't have the hospital cafeteria/ salad bar to run to during my lunches. So at first I lost some weight at my new job and I was so happy because I was at my goal weight. Then slowly over the last couple months I've gained weight back and I'm 10 lbs heavier than where I'd like to be.

Yes, I'm smaller than I was when I started this journey a few years ago, but I can always tell when I'm out of my comfort zone, and to be honest my comfort zone doesn't give me a lot of room to gain or lose weight.

I just need to find the motivation to eat better for one thing, but also to workout somewhere. I have equipment at home and workout tapes, I don't have an excuse. I intend to fully commit to doing something more than what I'm currently doing to get back in shape. I really do miss how strong I was doing my workout classes, the energy I had and really overall how good I felt. I need to get that back.
