Where does my joy come from today. ...
....had a nice long phone conversation with my mother in Germany. I know she gets lonely. She does go out to my sisters a few times a week, but mostly just does housework there and tries to fly under the radar. The kids are grown up and it's really hard for my Mom not to be needed like she used to. It was nice to be able to try and take her mind off of things and make her laugh and try to make her feel special. I told her when she comes to visit us in summer, she can help me organize my closet. That cheered her up, lol.
.....hubby came home safe from his visit with his brother in Massachusetts. While we were chatting on the phone, a cop pulled him over for going 86 in a 65 zone. I felt so bad for Craig because I know he didn't go that fast on purpose. He was just distracted by my "beautiful voice". The cop changed it to 75 in a 65 and gave him tips on how to appear in court, plead not guilty and most likely get it changed to a lesser charge. Isn't that sweet? We truly have a lot of awesome cops in this area.
....when we went to bed, our elderly lab Velvet was passed out on Craig's side. She was so comfy and in such a deep sleep, that he did not want to disrupt her. He squeezed in on the outer edge and snuggled with her. It appears he ended up sleeping on the couch rather than throw her out. You can tell the soul of a man by how he treats his dogs.
