Reality Check

Friday, February 26, 2016

Well, weighed myself after two weeks on Spark. 1st week at 1000 to 1300 calories , and second week at 1000 calories: I weigh exactly the same as when I started - 150.2 lbs. Ain't that a kick in my nalgas planas! It is not due to inaccurate recording of intake. I do have one or two glasses of wine (recorded) with dinner with my husband more often than not. The liquid carbs must be the major culprits. You may say 1000 calories puts me in starvation mode but for me this is not the case. My physician increased a medication I take for mood swings as a side effect is appetite suppressant. Topiramate is the med. Less desired side effect is utter stupidity, I believe the medical term is aphasia. Pretend your brain is a closet filled with "hangers" of knowledge. In my case, the Topiramate janitor has come through and cleared away all the hangers, leaving me with this yawning cavern. To top it off, I posted a Throwback Thursday photo of myself in my 20' s on Facebook. My hairdresser, a longtime friend, asked me who it was, said that person was totally unrecognizable from the mature woman I am now. He said it looked like a cruel joke and I should delete it, which the mortified me did. Crap. Vanity bruised. I've had a hard life like everybody else. I guess it shows in my face. Here's an unrelated nice picture.

I understand .I have a slow metabolism . I walk 10,000 steps a day ( and work hard to get them in , in the winter months.) I et between 11,000 and 13,000 a day( calories) and in 10 days lost 1.5 pounds and feel extremely bloated. I feel like I gained weight. and if I can make you understand some people have mush for tact. and what comes out of their mouths . I ran into a old friend yesterday. haven't seen her for 15 yrs. ( I try to keep my self by doing my hair every day putting on make up and searing clean un stained clothing and feel I dress conservatively for my age .( 64) so out she comes from a store her white hair flowing in the the wind in a old growing out, poodle doo she looked like a old hag.
I excitedly said to her ohh my gosh_______ how have you been ? she said pretty good . then says to me ... "my your not aging too well" my heart fell to the ground. I thought have you looked in the mirror lately? ( I didn't say it, but wanted too ) I was so hurt . I made a bit of small talk and moved on . but I have to tell you I think about her comment to me and it has made me feel like maybe I don't look as nice ,as I think I do. my hubby told me she is a idiot and to remember what she looked like and maybe she was jealous. so I understand your horror when this person said some thing so hurt ful to you. People THINK! before it comes out of your mouth

Your metabolism is like mine. Stay focused. It will happen! I'm having tough time getting in exercise. That will help boost the weight loss. And water, water, water. Stay well hydrated.

Your body could just be retaining water and holding on to it for dear life! My guess is that you will have a loss next week. Don't give up..just keep on taking care of yourself and eating healthy.
