Wow, I cannot believe I am almost 6 months pregnant! The time is flying by.
I have been very fortunate in that I haven't felt ill, just somewhat fatigued and absent minded. I have continued to stay active, walking to and from work about 3 days a week, dancing 2-3 days a week and taking a prenatal yoga class.
My eating has been good but not perfect -- I do eat sweets and more carbs than I otherwise might. But I also eat a lot of eggs, chicken, beef, strawberries, yogurt, cheese, tomatoes, beans, nuts, etc. I am eating mostly whole foods so I am happy with that. I could probably do more veggies but they are the one thing it has been hard for me to choke down. I need more veggies and fish!
Weight gain has been pretty good. I've gained about 14 pounds so far. I don't think I'm going to be able to keep it under 20 as my doctor suggested but I'm more than half way there so hopefully I can keep it at or under 25. I'd love to step on the scale a few weeks post-partum and see that I only have 15 or less to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. That would be great.
But really, I'm not willing to "diet" while pregnant just to try to achieve a specific number. That's not what this is about in my mind. I want my daughter to be happy and healthy so I try to eat well and stay active. Hopefully, that will continue to be enough!
