1 Year Anniversary on THM (May 1) Update

So one year ago on May 1, when I had given up on ever losing weight, when I had tried every diet out there, well almost every diet...from counting points, calories, South Beach, Richard Simmons, Dr Oz, and not to mention the countless emotional eating books and all the other things I've tried like the cabbage soup diet...I found Trim Healthy Mama, or should I say it found me.
Put it this way I was soooooooooooooo not ever going to diet, ever again....I was at my heaviest 206.4 lbs, and in a size 18/20...the thought of being on any diet was far from my mind...done, had it, can't do it and don't want to attitude when it came to diets.
My husband saw our friend Phyllis "Mavrickbaby" on facebook talking about how much weight she lost and how our other friends were losing "who by the way are all over the age of 60"...so I reached out to her..
I was skeptical and was afraid of how much fat everyone eats....as my cholesterol is or should I say was high...
AND because I was done with diets for good I wasn't sure I even wanted to look into it but then I said they must be on to something as Phyllis struggled as far back as I could remember with her weight as well as my other friends. SO I was sold.
It was difficult at first to understand the concept, but I was able to text her and another friend with questions that helped a lot...
What I did was found a few meals from each category and stuck with them while I was learning the concept and mind you I still do try to keep it simple as I'm not a big kitchen type person.
Did I fail at times, yes I sure did and sometimes still do...I was on a Dairy Queen binge last summer and when I was on vacation was totally off plan, and have I had potato chips, yup at least twice since I started...but in the END I get back on plan...if you can take one thing away from my blog, the KEY to my success is:
DO NOT THINK OF THIS AS A DIET BUT A LIFESTYLE CHANGE AND THAT IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING AT A PARTY OR VACATION IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD YOU HAVE YOUR LIFESTYLE CHANGE TO LEAN ON.....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS COMPLICATED AND DO NOT THINK OF THIS AS JUST ANOTHER DIET...
By keeping it SIMPLE, I've lost 40 lbs (down to 164)...can I lose the last 20, sure I can, slowly just like I've lost the 40 very slowly..this is not a race with the weight, live life, enjoy the food and know if YOU really follow this lifestyle you will lose the weight..
