So Sick of Sliming with my Lapband, so I'm taking it out!

Saturday, May 14, 2016

It's been 6 years with a lapband and I loved, loved, loved it at first. I was not working and had all the time in the world to create delicious low carb meals that were freshly cooked and my band and body responded well.

Now after 3 years back at work, I no longer have the luxury of doing that. I cook huge amounts of food in the pressure cooker so the meat will be soft after being frozen, measured and eaten throughout the week. I also grill chicken and do the same with measuring, and freezing in bags. I can't eat grilled chicken that has been frozen unless I've put it in a food processor and chopped it up to some kind of unrecognizable concoction. Ground meat has been another favorite too but I have to fry them with onions and peppers and use the higher fat 80/20 so that it will be moist and go down later after being frozen.

The problem is that if I eat one more grilled chicken breast or another portion of hamburger meat with onions and peppers, I will just throw up--it's been 6 years now!! I'm tired of sitting at my desk eating lunch while kids are coming in and out to see me (it's their lunch time too and the only time they can get out of class to come in to my office). They look at my lunch and say "what's that? If it's the chopped chicken, I always have it drowned in water. I tell them it's chicken broth, but it's water to help it go down without getting stuck. If it's the hamburger meat, it's drowning in the grease! I usually eat broccoli with my meals too and maybe sometimes greens but that's about it. Raw veggies won't go down, tuna and eggs won't go down. Meat that's not drowning in water won't go down. I'm sick of it all.

No wonder I've gained 50 out of the 100lbs I lost! I can't eat real food anymore since I got the band. Nuts--slime; fish-slime-lean meats-slime-fresh veggies-slime!! ENOUGH

I recently had my band completely emptied of fluid and have not had one problem eating any of the healthy foods I should be eating. I have never felt so good because I'm having nutritious meals.

The band was a good start and I don't regret getting it, but it's not what I need now. ByeBye Band. It's been an experience!

Oh Paula, I am right with you with every thing u wrote, I too am slimming. .I rush to eat ESP when my Cindy stands under me begging for food as my husband taught her to do.
I wish that I could get a sleeve, but as I said before, I can't. I also grind my chicken down with my Ninjia, but add mayo to it. I put mayo in most any thing. My new doc, told me to only eat 4 oz of food.
I wear my Fitbit all the time and attempt to exercise. Apparently, exercise is really the secret,,
On fb there are several sleeve groups that you might check out. I hope that you will keep in touch with us. We all were great friends and need eachother for support. Don't you agree. Well gotta get going. Have a great day. Breathe. emoticon Ilene
