One Defining Decision

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

I have been reading a lot of inspirational stories and quotes today. I was trying to find the right one. You know it is that one that you will know when you see it? It just has to reach out and grab you Well I think I finally found it. It made me stop and really think. It says... "You're only one defining decision away from a totally different life." Wow that says it all. it reminds me that the choices I make could totally change the life I lead or could lead. So do I want to eat all those potato chips or that honey bun? Do I want to stay severely overweight the rest of my life? Who knows how long that will be if I do not get some of this weight off and start eating healthy. If I choose not to eat that junk food and start exercising more I will improve my quality of life and perhaps extend it. This one decision will determine if I stay on the course I am now or if I get to lead a totally different life.
I know, you are thinking it is just one honey bun. But it really isn't. Is that not what you said about that cake you had just yesterday? or the candy bar last week? One unhealthy choice leads to another and another and another. That is how we got where we are now. So it is time to break the cycle and choose not to eat that honey bun. The decision you make right now could possibly lead you to a totally different life, one that is healthy, happy and just simply loving life or another 5 pounds gained. So yes it is just one defining decision.

You are so right. I remember one line from TOPS that I used to attend: "Even though I over eat in private, my excess pounds are there for all the world to see what a fool I've been". Wish I would have remembered that 50 pounds ago!

I don't remember who said it, but I'll quote her: Losing weight is like slowly opening a present, in the end, the present is a "New YOU!" That New YOU is healthier and better looking.
