A new motivation

Excited does not even begin to describe the joy I am feeling right now. I am over the moon and bursting at the seams happy. Why you ask? Well I am glad you asked. More than 12 years ago I sadly and with a lot of tears put away my wedding ring and another diamond solitaire my husband had bought me for Christmas shortly after we were married. I could no longer get them on my finger because of all the weight gain. I have actually lately been thinking about taking them to a jeweler to have them sized. I had put the solitaire in my wallet last year as a constant reminder and to help boost my motivation to lose weight. For some reason I decided to see how close I was getting to being able to put them back on again. Drum roll please!! It fit!! Not only did my solitaire fit but so does my wedding band which is a little smaller than the solitaire. You can not even imagine my surprise. I want to wake my husband so bad to show him. But I won't. This is just beyond the best thing I could have hoped for at this point. At the rate I am going right now I may have to have them made smaller!
At this point you might be asking what I will use for motivation now. Well I will tell you. Long before my husband of 17 years and I got married I had put away my mother's ring. It was too small. I have not been able to wear that ring for 20 years. I tried it on this morning too just to see. It sadly did not fit yet but it did go over the knuckle. So that is my motivation to keep going now. I can not wait until the day my family is all here for dinner to be able to have that ring on again. My daughters will be so thrilled. I of course will be beaming from ear to ear!
Of course my rings are not my only motivation. My grandchildren also motivate me. I want to watch them grow up. Not only do I want to watch them grow up but I want to be able to get up out of this chair and participate in their lives. That my friends is my real goal. I will be able to walk in the park again or take long walks to the park. I will be able to swing my grandchildren on the swings. I will be able to do things with them that I can not do from a wheelchair.
My quote for today is:
Believe in yourself
and all that you are.
Know that there is
something inside you
that is greater than
May God bless you and keep you on your journeys! Have a fabulous day!
