Whole30 Days 1 - 5

Start with pros: so far, my energy is up a bit. I am waking up easier in the mornings, and I jave had a significant reduction in my IBS symptoms.
Cons: holy crap it takes forever to make everything from scratch! Plus, it is EXPENSIVE.
To be fair, I chose some very expensive meals for the first week as a motivator. Scallops, shrimp and fresh salmon are naturally super expensive. Beyond that, though, this plan requires a lot of special ingredients that I had to find. Stocking up on a ton of Whole30-compliant bacon, sausage, oils, coconut and almond milks, etc, is a lot to buy at once.
Unfortunately, this whole thing had a huge hiccup: my husband.
He decided to do it with me, at zero urging from me.
It has not gone well. At all.
My husband eats mountains of tortillas, beans, rice and drinks constant energy drinks, milk and cokes.
So he was miserable and whined CONSTANTLY. As a bonus, he would eat way too much of my fancy, expensive food. Several days this week I expected to eat leftovers so I wouldn't have to cook from scratch after work every day. He ate it all.
He lasted 3 days before digging in to tortillas.
I am changing the menu for this week to include lots of batch cooking soups. I can't cook every freaking day after work for 25 more days.
At least the food is delicious!
