Whole30 RoundUp - I DID IT!!!

I can't believe it!
30 days without any binge eating, alcohol, grains, added sugar - artificial or natural.
To be honest, I didn't really think I could do it, especially when my husband started cheating on it.
First things first, the numbers:
May 1st numbers:
Upper Arm: 14.75
Waist: 38 (down 2!!)
Hips: 44 (down 1.5!!)
Upper Arm: 15 (more about that in a minute)
Body Fat: 36.6
Body Water: 46.2
Body Fat: 35.2! (down 1.4!)
Body Water: 47.2! (up 1!)
BMI: 30.2!!! (down 1.6!)
Bone: 6.4 (down .1, still within normal range!)
And... drum roll please...
On May 1st I weighed in at 168.8.
8.5 pounds gone in 30 days!
I lose weight at a glacial pace, so this is very big for me. I am so close to being back in to "overweight" on my BMI instead of "obese". I have like 2 more pounds to lose before I get there.
More importantly than body composition though, Whole30 has completely changed my relationship with food. We had massive emotional problems this month that I won't get in to, but trust me, it has not been an easy month. With Whole30, I didn't have my usual coping method available: comfort/stress eating.
So, this was something I didn't expect and hadn't planned on. I couldn't seek solace in chocolate bars anymore, or grab a bag of chips because I "deserved" it after the day I had. No matter what, I sat down to my plate of meat and vegetables. I couldn't drink, either, since alcohol is strictly forbidden on Whole30.
This has forced me to actually FEEL my feelings.
As a result, I have noticed that I feel a lot calmer in the face of insanity now. One of the things that happened was major car trouble. My husband was freaking out and ranting, and I was completely calm. I knew what we needed to do to get it taken care of, the steps I needed to take to achieve the desired result, and I did it. No tears, no ranting, etc. This is very different for me, since I am usually the one having a freak-out over everything!
My IBS symptoms have all but disappeared. I had a whopping 3 days of symptoms. Before Whole30, I had them DAILY. I also haven't had heartburn in over a month!
My cravings have almost disappeared, except I discovered a new one: bananas with no-sugar-added almond butter. So tasty, and Whole30 compliant, so I have had to be careful with those.
I went swimsuit shopping last weekend and LOVED it. Yes, I have a bunch of excess skin. You know what? My options are to regain all the weight, or have excess skin. I need to get over the skin issue, and just enjoy how much more comfortable I am with myself now. So I tried on suits, they fit perfectly, and were totally cute. This is the first time I have been able to buy swimwear at Target!
I think excess skin is why my arm measurement increased. Less fat around my arm means the skin hangs even more, which increases the measurement. That's my theory, anyway.
The one thing I haven't noticed is complexion improvements. All the blogs mention improved skin; I did not have that happen. My face looks about like it always has.
Anyway, sorry for the novel. I am extremely excited about how well I did with this eating plan. I feel like I am controlling food, it isn't controlling me. My cravings aren't controlling me. After so many years on the emotional-eating roller coaster, this is such a relief!
I plan on continuing to eat a Paleo diet at least 80% of my meals each week. The food is just so tasty!
