So that was a blessing!

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Another day is coming to a close. I had just an ordinary day today. I woke up again today. So that was a blessing. I did manage to increase my steps on the nu-step machine to 2100 steps which is the most I have ever been able to do. So that was a blessing. We took my youngest grandson, he is almost 2, to the park today and I walked with my cane around the play area instead of using my wheelchair. So that was a blessing. My blood pressure was normal again today. So that was a blessing. You are reading this blog. So that is a blessing. All in all I guess it was not an ordinary day but an extraordinary day! You can never have too many blessings. God has truly blessed me and for that I am forever grateful!

A couple of days ago I went out to dinner with my mother and one of my sisters. We ate at Chili's restaurant. I was proud of myself I ate the Caribbean salad with seared shrimp instead of the usual steak I have.

The reason I mentioned this is that I was thinking about something my mother always does when we go out to eat. She always asks for her dressing on the side. That in itself is not unusual. But, when she eats her salad she dips her fork into the dressing and then gets some of the salad. That way she doesn't over eat the dressing which tends to make her sick. That got me to thinking. So I tried it when we went out and you know what? It works! Not only do you get a taste of the dressing but you use less than half of the two tablespoons they give you in those little souffle cups. Mine was still 3/4 full when I finished my salad. I did not feel one bit deprived and talk about the calories saved. My mind was blown! I know this is not a new thing but it was a first for me. So that was a blessing!
You have all blessed my life so much by listening and offering advice when I need it. So that is a blessing!
May God bless you as he has blessed me! I will leave you with this....

God bless you and keep you in your journey! Have a fabulous night!
