Sept....gonna be a rough one :/

Well, the month is upon me that I have decided to completely stop smoking. I don't actually smoke, I switched to vapor a while back so my lungs could start clearing up so I could start exercising back in the spring, and I gradually went down on my nicotine levels. I am at 3 mg (started at 18) right now. Tomorrow is "Q" day. I'm already stressing about it lol. I've got some gum ready and some hard candies ready. I'm gonna need you all!!

I had set a goal of being at 150 by October, which is also the month that I want to start running again. I need to be completely nicotine free so that running will be easier. I can actually run now, but my lungs give out on me. So that means I have 6 pounds to lose in September, while trying not to smoke. Hmmm....I'm questioning my overall planning here. I know I can do it though. But it is really going to push me to my limits and make me see what I am made of. And my schedule is still crazy. So its definitely gonna be an interesting month. I'll either sink or swim. Either way, I won't give up. I am hoping when I blog at the beginning of October I will be able to say I met both my goals. We shall see.

    How is the month going as far as your quitting so far? On thing you can try that is proven to help is cutting hard fruit and veggies into french fry shape. As low as you have gotten on your vape you should be able to handle quitting. At this point is more of a physical addiction. By cutting apples for example to french fry shape you are giving your hands and mouth that feeling that you are craving. You can hold your fruit or veggie stick like you would your vape.Let us know how you are doing. HUGS

    We haven't "met" - I've just seen some of your posts on the 5% Challenge team and you seem like a caring person. I just wondered how it's going now that you're a few days into giving up smoking completely. I wish you great success with it. You'll be SO glad you did. I'm sure you already know that quitting smoking is the single biggest thing you can do for your health and well being. I watched my Mom lose her vitality, her health, and finally her life because of it. Best of luck!

    Swim baby swim. You can do this. I quit 16 years ago. It was one of the hardest but best things I've ever done. You've got your plan in motion and motivation to make it through. I'm with aggie...suck on hard candy, drink water, take a little jog when you feel the urge. Your lungs will tell a difference immediately. You have the will power and I just Know that you are going to succeed. Here if you need us.

    Anddddd, I only had the desire to smoke once, I was in Vegas, (enough said) I took a drag and I didn't taste well. breathing and running, so much more enjoyable to run when you can breath

    Ok, so you are me last month! I totally decided to quit August 1st... Running, yada yada..... Best advice, rubberband on your wrist, peppermints, avoid hand to mouth movements. Try not to drink alcohol. Drink water whenever you want to have one
