Today has been another whirlwind day. I just can not seem to find enough hours in the day to get everything done before I go in the hospital tomorrow. but I said I would have another activity to boost self-esteem, so here it is.
One of the first things we do when a friend is having problems is stop and listen. We find out what is going on and what we can do to help. Why ware we not doing this for ourselves? We need to learn to listen what our heart, body and mind are telling us and to be kind to ourselves, take care of ourselves and love ourselves as we do others. When our self-esteem gets low we don't like ourselves very much and tend to stop doing anything fun, because we do not feel like we deserve to be happy. Our activity for today is to do something special for yourself like take yourself out to dinner or a movie, go shopping for a new outfit, get your hair done or a spa day. When was the last time you let yourself be pampered? That long? Well it is time to change all that. Oh and dress up while you are getting pampered or going out to dinner. It is time to feel good about your physical appearance too and as long as you are not taking care of yourself that will not happen. Our image or how we see ourselves is very important. For you ladies, when was the last time you put your makeup on or styled your hair? For you men, when was the last time you shaved and put on a splash of cologne? by not taking care of our physical appearance we are just adding fuel to the fire so to speak. If you were taking someone out on a date would you not expect them to look their best? So get dressed up, go out and have some fun. You deserve it!
I challenge each of you to plan some fun time this weekend. Do something nice for yourself and I don't mean sit at home and read or watch TV. Stand up and let the world know you are here and you are a force to be reckoned with. Remember, God gave you that body and you should treat it as you would any other gift from God, with special care. Another thing we need to do and that is smile more. A smile is so much more than just a smile. A smile can improve your mood, lower your blood pressure, boost your immunity, help you have a positive attitude and make you look confident and successful. As my grandma used to say it is time to put on your Sunday go to meeting clothes and look happy to be there. She used to always say if you smile long enough you will begin to believe it too. Well according to research she was right. Who knew? I read an article about smiling and it said that if you fake smile for 60 seconds your smile will become real.
Well this is my last blog for a few days. I leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow. It will take us 4-5 hours to get to the hospital. Prep for my surgery is set to start at 7am. So this is me signing off. I need to log my food and exercise for the day and then I am off to bed. I love you guys! Have a safe and happy weekend! If all goes according to plan I will be back on here on Sunday.
God bless you and keep you on your journey! Have a fabulous day!

I'll keep you in my thoughts. Positive outcomes. emoticon

Just a side thought....it seems like when we are going into the hospital or traveling or some kind of other life change. Then we feel we need to busy ourselves cleaning and preparing a nest for our absence. Now if we were just staying home, dealing with the same old mundane life would be making ourselves so busy?
