My Day

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Yesterday I started decluttering one of my son's drawers. He has grown so quickly that most of his clothes are hardly worn. I laundered them even though they were all clean, (a bit OCD of me I expect) folded them nicely ready the the church charity shop. There are two large bags.

Today I did the same with my clothes. Two bags were filled to throw out and there will be 2 more bags to donate.
My issue is that I have SHRUNK out of many of my clothes!

I did find some clothes that didn't fit me for years and that do now.
They are quite generic so don't look outdated.

The upside is that I am letting it all go without overthinking it. Finally I am getting the decluttering thing. I am delighted to have less stuff.

I have been preparing extra family meals to freeze. Tonight it was chicken schnitzel with herbed crumbs. Obviously I will have chicken breast seasoned with herbs, chilli and lemon when my family eat schnitzel. A few more freezer meals to prepare this week.

My eldest son had his first driving lesson from an instructor today. I think we have a different system for learner drivers here in Australia. He proceeded to tell us that he learned so much more from the instructor than from us. Obviously we were thrilled to hear that he was learning and learning things that will make him a safe and responsible driver. In defense of our driving skills they are pretty good we are just NOT driving instructor material!

Still a few more steps to go tonight to get to goal.

Great job on letting things go! I recently did the same thing with all my spring and summer clothes. I have declared that I will NOT be able to wear those next spring, so I gave them all to a local thrift store that helps battered women. It's a great feeling!

Great job on the shrinking woman thing...and congratulations. It is definitely fun to find "new" smaller sized old clothes that fit again. It is like buying a new wardrobe without laying out the money. Great job!
