I hate feeling like this

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I have been back on track for 1.5 weeks. Keeping in my calorie range. Planning my meals. I work at an office that gets outside lunch provided from time to time. Yesterday it was pizza and pasta. Today it is Chinese food. I avoided that food yesterday and kept on my plan. I am avoiding the food today and sticking to my plan. BUT I FEEL TERRIBLE!!!! I hate this! I want to eat yummy good food and LOTS of it. Not my sad chicken noodle soup and oyster crackers. Why is this such a struggle for me???? My goal is to lose some weight for my nephews wedding in August. I am sick of looking fat faced in all my pictures. I would like to lose enough weight to may start jogging again. But is so damn hard emotionally. Eating well _feels_AWFUL. I hate that! emoticon

I have to plan for the treats that I really want- the problem is that means I have to eat less of other things to fit them in, and I can't plan them every day. Maybe pick one or two days a week that you will splurge on eating one meal exactly as you want without worrying about the calories so much (with portion control) but focus on eating everything else those days as you should and exercising those days. It is the only way I don't feel deprived. Honestly, if I feel deprived I will never stick with it. You can figure it out. Make it a lifestyle not a diet, whatever that means for you. Also, look up new delicious recipes that are healthier that make you feel like you are eating exactly what you want.

Oh my gosh, how fitting I read your blog as I am sitting in my office with the door closed hiding from the Krispy Kreme donuts that lurk in the kitchen! Why is it celebrations are always centered around food? We are a food obsessed society (myself included). So even though I can't see the donuts they are occupying a good portion of my mind. My #1 job today is to get out of this office without eating a donut! I read one of the featured blogs that suggested focusing on what you want to gain. I'm trying to use that to get me through the afternoon. Perhaps it will help you. What do you want to gain????

    We CAN do this!

Same here. I always fail because I make very drastic changes. This time I am sticking with healthier versions of things I like - wheat vs white, fruits instead of candy. Are you trying to make too-drastic of a change?
