Day 192: Sugar, sugar, sugar

So I've been thinking... I have a really serious sugar problem. I know there's a lot of debate as to whether sugar "detoxes" are a good or bad idea. I think most can agree, however, that cutting down on added sugar is probably a better idea than not. So I have come up with a goal for myself and done some research today. Here is my plan:

I dread those few weeks between BL Challenges. I feel like a little kid running wild without any supervision. Therefore, I have decided to use that time as a chance to kick the sugar habit a bit. I don't tend to do well with long term goals because I shoot myself in the foot right away, so I'm aiming for a week. I'd like a good full seven days where I get my sugars from fruit and other natural sources rather than sugar that has been added to my food. From what I've read, the first three days are particularly rough when you're a big sugar eater (and I definitely am). I am going to take some time to prepare myself for that and come up with some things I can do when I'm having cravings or feeling a bit crazy or even sick (headaches and such). I have already compiled a weeks worth of slow cooker recipes that are high in protein and low in sugar. (And they look delicious!) I am nervous because I always tell myself that I can't do things, but I know I can do a short seven days if I put my mind to it! And if I slip up, oh well. Get back up and keep going. It's not a reason to binge. I think blogging through it will help me, so bear with me!
