AYITL - Blog #24 - Crossfit Games 2017!

Friday, February 10, 2017

It's amazing the friends you really can make on-line. Back in the day I was a member on an online dating site where I was a regular on the forums. The forum no longer exists, but I have dear friends I made from that time on the forums. I've only ever met one of them, but I continue to stay in touch with many of them through facebook. I love seeing their lives and the things they've done. I'm friends with amazing doctors and professors and well - you name it - I've met people from across the world with many different personalities and lives! I love it!

Sparkpeople has really been doing that for me lately. I come here daily truly excited to see what some of you are doing. While I feel a lot of the relationships are just blossoming - I love the feeling of expanding my circle of friends through the internet once again.

Why am I talking about this? My blog yesterday was all about the 2017 Crossfit Games and me being afraid to sign up. I posted on Facebook about it as well. The support I received was truly inspiring. I got lots of comments on facebook and when I went to Crossfit last night tons of people came up to me and encouraged me!

I was still on the fence - that is until this morning when I signed in to SP. Thank you to those who took the time to read my blog and show support. It is because of you that I signed up for the 2017 Crossfit Open this morning! I am truly blessed to have you all in my life! Much love to Golfgma, Gods-Princess and Chance04 - you ladies may not realize it but you are a wonderful addition to my life and you truly inspire me and make me better! I can only hope to do the same for you!

Now I officially have 2 weeks to freak out before the first night of the Open! emoticon

Tonight my step daughter is back for the night. We're making pizza at her request as she loves cooking with us and this is one of the things she's made with her dad at our house before. After dinner we're going to watch a movie. DH and I were talking and since she has been introducing us to some awesome new movie we thought we would introduce her to some of our childhood favorites! Tonight's movie is most likely going to be The Goonies! Who doesn't like The Goonies?

On Wednesday she introduced us to Trolls. I didn't really think I was going to like it - but it was awesome! For anyone who hasn't seen it, even if you aren't going to be watching it with kids - it's highly recommended!

Thank goodness you signed up for the Crossfit Open. I just know you would have regretted it if you hadn't. You have made such progress with your strength goals I think you are ready. Can't wait to see your achievements. I also agree online friends are great. Enjoy the time with your family this weekend.

online friends - I have made some really good online friends through a Reuters reporter. He even connected me with the family who adopted one of the pups we helped foster! (my Jan 19 2016 blog, if you want the details)

    Very glad you signed up!

How fun making pizza together! I haven't seen trolls...I go put it on my netflex list! Goonies is great! It was a free movie at the park this summer. We (my son, his gf, and I) were going to see it but the gnats were so bad! Your step daughter is going to love it. I had a boy so I introduced him to 'the duke of Hazard' He loved it! Old TV series are fun too! Have fun!
