AYITL - Blog #26 - Taking Things for Granted
Wednesday, February 15, 2017
Sometimes the universe gives us subtle reminders not to take anything for granted. Do you ever really think about the things that you have that others don't? I'm very guilty of the fact that many things in my life have come easy to me, or just a privilege I was born with. I don't always appreciate that.
I technically kissed my first boy in preschool. I leaned over and kissed little Aaron Albert on the cheek while we were sitting on the carpet. He didn't tell me I had cooties and run away. Nor did any boy I've ever kissed in my life for that matter. I've been blessed when it comes to the attraction of the opposite sex. (though sometimes that in itself has been a curse, but that's another blog for another day). All I can say though is a friend talking about some of their plights in life in the romance department reminded me that not only have I typically been lucky in love but I'm lucky to have an amazing husband who loves me to death.
Last night he blessed me with a wonderful Valentines gift. Most ladies ask for jewelry on flowers. Not this lady- she wanted more Crossfit stuff! He got me a Med Ball and an Ab Mat! (and flowers and bath bombs!)
Pretty sweet, huh? He's been driving me a little nuts this week - but instead of worrying about that, I won't take another day for granted - I'll just appreciate what we have.
Tonight my step daughter is coming over to make tacos for dinner. I'm thinking I'm going to try making a new meatless crumble for my tacos tonight. I found this recipe that I want to try out.
I have all of the ingredients at home and it looks easy enough!
Well - work is crazy so back to it!
