Throughout my whole SP experience I've found a lot of different products to try out. Some of which have become go to items in my life. So I figured I would share some of my tride true favorites and one new one!
Feel like having tacos? We do at least once a week. In order to keep the calories low and the food healthy I was really interested in finding a tortilla to meet my needs. Enter the tasty and nutrition La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Whole Wheat tortillas!
They are low cal, low carb, have plenty of protein and tons of fiber. I can have tacos and never feel guilty.
Last night for "taco Wednesday" I made my first homemade vegetarian crumble. I used the crumble from this salad. naturallyella.co
It was super good. My only concern was that it was very high in calories and didn't have much protein. I only used half the recipe and added onions and mushrooms when I sautéed it to add more substance to the dish but not many calories. I'm not sure I would make it again just based on how calorie dense it is without the protein.
My newest go to? Simple Truth Quinoa Multigrain Bread. I used it for my adult grilled cheese I featured in my blog the other day, along with a few other sandwiches and with eggs for breakfast. I actually just finished a tasty slice with peanut butter and banana on top!
My favorite thing about it? (aside from the taste!) They are HUGE slices of bread for only 90 calories! I was getting sick of looking at lower calorie bread and coming home with postage stamp sized bread that's thin as paper and has no taste. While 90 calories for a small slice of bread would freak me out - this 90 is PLENTY of food! It's multigrain, organic and delicious!
