APRIL JOURNEY, DAY 1
Saturday, April 01, 2017
I've decided to try to journal my progress on my recent weight loss journey. I have tried every diet in the book to no avail and I had reached a weight that just wasn't pretty! Something had to be done when I had to buy a size 16W jeans in December just to have something to wear on a trip north to visit family after Christmas. We have friends in Atlanta which is half way so we usually stop and visit with them on our way up to North Carolina and back.
They had started an online diet program called Bright Line Eating (BLE) in October and both of them had lost 20 lbs each. When they served us dinner, I couldn't believe the amount of food we were allowed to eat. Same at breakfast the next morning. Karen shared the BLE eating program with me which is a simple document. No sugar, no flour, no snacking, no processed foods, weigh and measure everything. Sounds like a normal diet.
The difference is in the amount of food you can eat and the allowed food that is usually restricted on diet. She said there would be a bootcamp starting sometime in January and that she would send me the information I would need to enroll.
So we waited and loosely started following the plan. I lose very slowly due to my age and medications I take. My husband, of course is now at goal with a 20 lb loss and I am at 18 to 19 pounds lost since the first of January. When the bootcamp started in mid-january, we joined up. There is now a book out entitled BRIGHT LINE EATING which is on the NY Times best seller week in the first week out!
My bootcamp is over but there is a facebook group that is closed to members only and we are going to band together and continue. We are now all anxiously waiting to hear from our leader to find out the next step. I intend to keep going at a snail's pace I'm sure while my husband continues to lose in spite of himself. Easiest diet we've ever been on. My goal was to have 20 lbs gone by the end of April when my sis and her husband return from a 4 month round the world cruise. We haven't told them but they will be amazed when they see us. Until next time!
