May Goals!

Well, thanks for joining us Northern California spring -- took ya long enough this year! The sun is out and shining and the world feels brand new. I feel motivated and ready. Unbelievably, one of my best friends was diagnosed with cancer recently. She is 33 years old. She is strong and otherwise healthy and I believe she will have a good outcome. But it is shocking -- incredibly shocking -- to see one of my peers (aren't we still young people?!) dealing with a serious illness. In fact, another of my friends is also struggling with a protracted mystery illness at the same time. Hearing words like "biopsy" uttered over drinks is a new experience for me.

Our health is EVERYTHING. Nothing else works without it. You would think the birth of my daughter in August would have motivated me to take care of myself. But it mostly just motivated me to take care of her. Which is great, wonderful, obviously necessary as well as a pleasure (most of the time). But it is not the same thing as taking care of MYSELF. Which I MUST do. And now actually WANT to do.

So, without further ado, my humble May goals. I hope to lose 6 pounds.

1) Walk every day
2) Alcohol free May (edited 5/4)
3) Eat at least one salad every day
4) Gratitude journal
